How to Delete Your Account

We respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to permanently delete your CA Quiz App account and all associated data.

⚠️ Important Warning

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, you will not be able to recover your account, quiz history, scores, or any other data.

Method 1: Delete Account In-App (Recommended)

Follow these steps to delete your account:

Open CA Quiz App

Launch the CA Quiz App on your mobile device and ensure you are logged in to the account you wish to delete.

Navigate to Settings

Tap on the Settings tab in the bottom navigation bar (gear icon on the right).

Find Account Section

Scroll down to the Account section in the Settings menu.

Tap "Delete Account"

Tap on "Delete Account" (shown in red with a warning icon).

Review Information

Read the information about what will be deleted and the deletion timeline.

Enter Your Password

For security purposes, enter your account password to confirm your identity.

Confirm Deletion

Tap "Delete My Account" and confirm in the final warning dialog.

Account Deleted

Your account will be immediately deactivated and you will be logged out. Data deletion will begin immediately.

Method 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email, you can contact our support team:

Email Subject: "Account Deletion Request"

Include in your email:

Your registered email address
Your account name (if different from email)
Confirmation that you understand deletion is permanent

We will process your request within 48 hours and send you a confirmation email once completed.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

Bookmarks	Saved questions and bookmarked content	DELETED
Notes	All notes, scratchpad content, rough work	DELETED
Settings & Preferences	App settings, notification preferences, themes	DELETED
Device Information	Device IDs, app version, usage logs	DELETED

Data Retention Period

We follow a strict data deletion timeline to ensure your information is completely removed:

⏱️ Immediate (0-5 minutes)

Account Deactivation: Your account is immediately deactivated and you are logged out. You can no longer access the app with this account.

⏱️ Within 24 Hours

Active Database Deletion: All your personal data is removed from our active production databases (Firebase Firestore). This includes all quiz attempts, scores, notes, and account information.

⏱️ Within 7 Days

Analytics Anonymization: Any analytics data is anonymized and disassociated from your account. Aggregated statistics may be retained for app improvement but cannot identify you.

⏱️ Within 30 Days

Backup Deletion: Your data is removed from all backup systems and archives. After this period, no trace of your account exists in our systems.

Data That May Be Retained

In compliance with legal requirements, the following minimal data may be retained for a limited period:

Support Tickets	Customer service records	Up to 1 year
Aggregated Statistics	App improvement (anonymized, non-identifiable)	Indefinitely

ℹ️ Note: Aggregated statistics are completely anonymized and cannot be used to identify you. For example: "80% of users found Paper 1 questions helpful" - this type of data helps us improve the app but contains no personal information.

Before You Delete

Please consider the following before deleting your account:

Export Your Data: You can export your quiz history and performance data before deletion. Go to Settings → Account → Export Data.
Alternative Options: If you're concerned about privacy, you can:
- Disable analytics in Settings
- Turn off notifications
- Clear your quiz history without deleting your account
Temporary Break: You can simply log out and not use the app. Your data will remain safe if you decide to return.

After Deletion

Once your account is deleted:

✅ You will receive a confirmation email (if email is still accessible)
✅ You can create a new account with the same email address after 7 days
✅ Any data previously deleted cannot be recovered
✅ You will no longer receive any communications from us
